Creating a great film starts with the characters. Not only must you understand their inner world, but you must create and throw obstacles in their way, pushing them to evolve and overcome. Just like any protagonist from the great films of history, my path hasn’t been straightforward.
Although I would say the story of my life is still in Act 1, it’s been full of some very exciting exposition. Growing up, I’ve always been infatuated with film and television. Every year, I would watch the Oscars and dress up in my finest attire to watch along as if I were one of the greats.
For better or worse, my imagination ran rampant as a child. Whether sitting in the movie theater or on the floor in front of the TV at home, those 90 to 120 minutes always transported me to another world. And the feeling of stepping out of a great film, one of possibility and wonder, is a feeling I still can't shake.
Growing up in southern New Jersey, I felt secluded from the great filmmakers. So, I decided to take a leap and move out west to continue my education and follow my dreams of filmmaking.
I started my film career at California State University, Long Beach. I came in clueless and in two years have grown far more than I ever thought possible. Every single day continues to cement my love for filmmaking.
It is my goal to create films that give the same heartwarming feeling of wonder and possibility that I experienced as a child to the next generation of movie watchers.
